OUR APPROACH
Groups are formed to address specific topics (e.g., life’s purpose and meaning; living with dignity) and are based on characteristics of the members (e.g., individuals with acquired brain injury; or individuals with MS; or caregivers of person with a neurological disorder.)
Groups are closed, meaning that they begin and end with the same members. Most group programs meet once weekly for 75 minutes, either entirely virtually or entirely in person. The typical duration of a group is 10 sessions.
An agenda for the 10 sessions will be provided in advance. Rules and expectations for group behavior are discussed at the first session. Groups involve completion of brief measures given before, during, and after the group program to assess progress.
Some groups require purchase of a book (less than $20). Weekly reading and/or other homework assignments are requested to enhance the individual’s experience as a group member.
