Welcome to Burke NeuroPsychological Services, with offices located in Burke, Virginia, by Alison A Fedio, PhD, PsyD.
We work therapeutically with adults with neurological disorders. Dr. Fedio practices an integrative form of therapy which merges cognitive behavioral theory and therapy (CBT) techniques with an existential/humanistic approach. Individuals with neurological disorders often experience changes in cognition, emotions/behavior, and physical functioning, all of which may affect family/social interactions. They may see themselves as being different than in the past and can benefit from exploring these differences while also recognizing ways in which they are still the same person they have always been. Family and friends may have many questions about how best to support them. Appreciating basic brain mechanisms for functional changes, formulating realistic goals, and improving communication skills can make a positive difference moving forward in life. Relying upon the structure of CBT tailored to the individual's needs, we can work together to develop activities and relationships grounded in meaning and purpose. Our fees are competitive for the Northern Virginia region. We accept Blue Cross/BlueShield (expected Fall 2021) and Medicare insurance plans, and we can provide detailed invoices for submission to other insurance carriers.
